Opening Days and Times: Thursday to Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
The Castle of Beloeil welcomes the creations of sixteen craftsmen who are members of the Métiers d’art.
Integrated into the tour of the house, the art pieces interact with the decor of the rooms in which they are displayed. The creators were inspired by the history, anecdotes, subtleties and atmosphere of the place. They extend the meaning of the place, responding to the collection’s objects or disrupting the codes of representation.
Selected with a view to eclecticism in the disciplines represented: ceramics, jewellery, forging, sculpture, glassmaking, tapestry, lace, etc., the fifty or so creations are displayed in showcases inserted into the living space of the salons.
Contemporary, atypical, poetic, intimate or strange, the art pieces created for the occasion offer an interaction between the past and the present.
The tour begins in the Main Courtyard of the Castle and ends on the outdoor terraces bordering the French gardens. From the ceremonial rooms to the bedrooms, it takes the visitor through thirteen rooms with furniture from the XVIIth, XVIIIth and XIXth centuries. The tour focuses on the know-how of men and women, craftsmen and women who perpetuate the traditions at the heart of their creations.
